We can truthfully say that the lecture delivered by Colonel Buckncr at the Methodist church, last night, was the best war lecture that was ever delivered in this county, and we doubt if its equal was ever heard in Kansas.

After some preliminary remarks relative to the national propriety of the country since the war, and of the kindly feeling existing among old soldiers, especially those belongiug to the Grand Army of the Ilepublic, the Colonel proceeded to give a graphic account of the designs and movements of the army ot the Cumberland from the battle of Stone River to that ot Chicamauga, and finally to the dislodgementof Bragg from Lookout Mountain and Missionary Ridge. The Colonel's description of campaign life and of battle scenes was true to lite, and no old soldiers can hear him relate these army experiences without feeling a thrill of joy and pride from his very heart, that be was among those who gave the best part of their livs for the defense of those principles of truth and right that the speaker so often referred to. Colonel Buckner's lecture is worth double the price charged for admission, and every one who missed it, misted the richest treat that was ever otlered in this town. l.r.Bwy. uo.
