The Quayle Bible class will hold its annual picnic on the lawn at the home of N. E. Glsh August 31. Dinner will be served Boon after 6 o'clock. The local lodge of the Knights and Ladies of Security held a very enjoyable session at their regular meeting this week.

A nice class was initiated. Three auto loads of K. L. S. from Salina were guests and several members of the Enterprise lodge were present.

Last Tuesday about twenty ladles of the Here and There society took their dinners and went to the home of Mrs. Dave Campbell and helped her with her fail sewing. At noon they all did ample justice to a big dinner. Mrs. Campbell has not been very well this summer and she feurely avpreclated her neighbors' help.

FOOLHARDY CROSSING TRACK CAUSED WRECK AMI DEATH A frantic father tried to save his little daughter, Mary Dolecek, 10 years old, when Union Pacific train No. 104 bore down upon a motor car In which she and her father were riding Monday morning, but the father's efforts were In vain The accident occurred a half miles west of Wilson.

The little girl was hurled 110 feet from the train. She died In tre Wilson hospital. Frank Dolecek of Wichita attempted to cross the Union Pacific tracks Bt the intersection of the Golden Belt road. As train No. 104 thundered a short distance away the engine of the motor car went dead.
